oh..my.. look what i found..

oh..my.. look what i found..
so i just bought my 04 gsr.. and its a good car, miles not too shabby, decent price.
However.. seems EVRYTIME i take something off.. i find a new "hide" of horrible and shawty worksmanship... today for instance.. as im ABOUT to go get the out of province inspection done... i need to replace the deck with the stocker... usually not a big deal right? ... haha bejeesus! the wire harness for the radio has been mulched and "branched" with all sorts of diff. guages of wire.. going WHO KNOWS WHERE?!? so that's one stepo lower into the rabbits hole... i decided to try and follow one of the bigger suckers.. i goes dowwn.. so i took off the bottom cubby there under the radio location.. and low and behold.. some .....moron..... has drilled holes into this thing.. and ran a strip of l.e.d's... thats not bad.. however the wire up job!! is a toaster waiting to happen! i mean seriously not a single guage wire is matched... the wires are "patched" in sections and twisted together... and there are more RANDOM wires poping in and out of this home made harness that i can shake a stick at... im pretty sure at least 2 or 3 of them were still live.... FML
... so now i begin the slow and painful road to following all the wires, and making this right. i also found another hole drilled so far in the change department... i can hardly wait to see what surprises pop up there 
.. why do some people mistreat these cars soooo half assed??? oyy anyways i'm done my little rant. what kinda stupid stuff has other people "happened upon" from their prev. owners??
i apologize in advance for cell phone quality pics ... i know this isnt the end of the world in terms of my car... but i have to wonder.. whats next?

Reminds me of when I bought my zx6r last year. It had those damn leds ran all over and I was ashamed of them lol. I eventually ripped them out along with the hidden nest of wires.

thats the thing.. if it were tastefully pre-done.. and wired correctly as a complete system.. it wouldnt be so bad.. but this .. is just .. well amatuer at best. It honestly looks like he tapped for the power from one of the main wire harnesses that run under the center console into the firewall... if thats the case.. i better prepare for a world of nightmare... i'm very surprised i havnt had a toaster go up on me yet... wow
Looks like my car....mine came from a dealership and i have alot of engine pieces zip-tied in place. Missing brackets and bolts. and wires ran for god knows what...kinda like a really bad scavanger hunt.

hahahaha a scavenger hunt where, when you find the prize you get a little zap, and perhaps a blown fuse here and there lol wish i could just smack this guy upside the head and ask him what the hell he was thinkin
haha yea thats about it...i tried to find the previous owner of mine but could get anyfather than names and from florida. thats about it. I wish i could see what was done to mine just so i know and also smack the **** outta the last owner

Reminds me of when I bought my old DSM several years back. When I took it home, I noticed the original owner left a multimeter in the glove box. I went to pull it out, only to find that the wires went behind the glove box and into the harness. He was using it as an air/fuel ratio gauge I think...

my 03 8 has all kinds of wires in it to that are obviously not stock and cut tht go nowhere and for some reason in the compartment to the left of the steering wheel there is a green and a red light? of course with wires going nowhere
I know what you mean because my integra was this way. There were random loose wires ran all over the place that it was hard to make sense of it all. Eventually I ripped all the non factory wires out and started from scratch.
