Adjustable power to wheels??

Sorry for my newb attempt at this question but wondering if its true that either Evo VIII or IX has some kind of knob or slider bar or something where you can adjust how much power goes to all wheels or more to the rear wheels ect ect or if thats just older Evos or just Evos in Japan or something.

boost controller? you turn down = less power, up = more power. Not able to randomly control the power to front/rear wheels. Its either all wheel, rear wheel (with the proper kit), or front wheel ( removing rear driveshaft).... But no sense in doing that.

No not talking about a boost controller, just about adjusting power from AWD to certain amounts all the way to RWD and not by replacing stuff or anything just a stock, factory installed slider bar or knob or something. It was an older Evo but I dont remember how old and if it was ever even a US spec thing.

im pretty sure youre not thinking of an evo, that is something more in line with the subaru wrx sti. they have the driver controlled center differential (dccd) which is a dial like you are talking about

definitely not talking about an evo.. your are talking about the Subaru's exactly what evo8426 is talking about... its pointless in my eyes... especially people on the street would probably just do it to do rear wheel drive burnouts...

the closest thing we have to that is the ACD. but that just delays the time from where the front wheels get power till the back does. and i heard theres a program where you can adjust the setting as much as you want. but i doubt it can make it just fwd or rwd. this is just was i heard.

The DCCD on the subaru is kinda pointless IMO. I always left mine on auto or 50/50 lock.

I think that the 05's and 06's have adjustable center diffs.

The ACD in my 05 just lets you choose between tarmac, gravel, and snow. The Subaru DCCD allowed you to control the power from front to rear I think up to 30%F/70% rear.

No production Evo has ever had an adjustable center diff like the dccd in Subaru's. I remember some dude with an Evo 4 in Greece had a set up to switch between 50/50 and full RWD. This was a drag car and the system was used mostly for rear wheel burnouts,

I thought if the ACD was 100% unlocked that the vehicle is FWD at that point.

How could it be modified to only drive the rear wheels? It's either FWD (100% unlocked) or AWD (locked AND input load is greater than lockup percentage) right?

Beyond that I'm curious what can be done without modification to simply have a fuel economy FWD setting on the ACD. Besides going fast I want to play around with some economy tuning. Such as leaning out a map with very low boost for cruising at a certain rpm.

I seen this thread and it sparked my interest simply because a pure FWD setting would help out for mileage even if slightly. Right? I know it's an Evo.... I just came from a Cobra and I'm used to V8 mileage. I feel like having 2 liters with MIVEC should be an advantage for tinkering with economy. Possibly playing with the ACD is another thought.

if you want economy, get a daily driver. these arent hondas and arent made for super high gas milage. you want better gas milage at crusing speed, get a big turbo

i know the op is talking about the subaru's dccd.
however, even subaru's dccd doesn't adjust the power to front or rear, instead, it changes the lock percentage of central diff.
