Paint stripping from CF fenders

Hey all,

Anyone knows which place have confidence in paint removal from a CF material?

i do not want to overlay another layer to make it thicker.

E.g CF fender painted over with black paint. Now i want to remove the paint and show the CF.

Discussions :-

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...tripped-d.html

Will the process be the same? e,g get aircraft/paint stripper - apply, rinse, repeat, reclear..

CheeRs!!

stripper shouldnt harm the carbon fiber if its made for fiberglass and doesnt contain methylene chloride.

cool.cos my local paintshops ain't confident at all.

all mentioned it will be impossible to sand to a nice even finish and the paint remover will harm the carbon fiber.

most paint strippers will destroy carbon or fiberglass, thats why you have to buy one that fits the guidelines i posted.

right.do you have the product name or picture? need to get it if its being sold

guess that is the ONE reason the paintshops are not confident.

i dont have any specific ones, i havent had time to go look. if it specifically states "safe for fiberglass" and "doesnt contain methylene chloride" then it will be safe.
