Ok, I personally am waiting for the evo, but a couple days ago I picked up a magazine at Barnes and Noble, I think it was called car sneak peak, or car preview or something like that. Anyway, besides mentioning the evo, it showed a sketch for the new lancers which looked exactly like an evo 7 looks (front grill and all) and also made made mention of an increase in horsepower. They said something like around 155. To be exact, they said it was to be a competitor with the new Nissan sentra se-r spec V. Here was the best part, they are going to start offering the base lancer in a 4wd. I know this doesnt mean much to those who want the real deal evo, but for anyone who just wont shell out 30k or more,
here is your chance. Hey, subaru lovers have the 2.5 RS (which is the same as a wrx, minus the turbo and some suspension tweaks) now we have something similar.

 

any idea on the price? that would definitely be a sweet car . . . too bad they couldn't have produced that from teh beginning . . maybe I'll have to trade in my oz rally when that comes around . . . . .

Except the 2.5 is a 2.5 and the WRX is a 2.0

 

actually they are the same engine. the 2.5rs engine is a stroked 2.0 wrx motor without the turbo.
