Were all 5 men in uniform in the car when the tire blew out? Were you driving in the left lane preparing to pass the car in front of you on the right?

There were 3 others in the car, but they are not the guys walking around in the pictures. The other passengers are sitting on the ground behind the Evo in those pics. Yea, I was in the left lane just starting to pass another vehicle and it blew out on me. Tire blew and the rear end kicked out to the left and then back to the right and into the ditch.

Rockman, thanks for the info on your boys for sale thread. Anxiously waiting on insurance to finish up so I can see where the finance situation sits. Shouldnt be an issue. I just hope it doesnt sell before insurance finalizes.

Holy **** glad your ok Sad to see the evo go but they are replaceable. Some duct tape should fix it right up

Chances are you turned and got on throttle to pass loading that driver's side rear wheel with more weight than it could handle for its given pressure. When it blew, you probably counter steered and when the rear caught, your front wheels were pointed right.

You managed to avoid collision with those around you and everyone walked out - well done.

I've had the same thing happen to me, once on the street and once on the track. It happens, we move on. Now it's time to build a better, badder Evo!

 

Ouch!! It makes the loss so much worse because it was something out of your control. Good luck on getting something out of the place that sold you the tires!

Thats the plan right now, but I bank with the same company I have insurance through and theyre not too keen on financing another Evo....still up in the air right now
