Anybody else out there wish Mitsubishi should have kept the Tarmac Black color instead of replacing it with Phantom Black?
Phantom Black isn't bad but Tarmac black was just so 'deep', it made the Evo look so cool, especially right after a nice detail...

I think a Evo X in tarmac black would look awesome.

I don't like either of the blacks mitsu has, but tarmac was better. phantom black has gold flakes in it and it makes it look brown....they should have borrowed Honda's Nighthawk black pearl...that's a damn good color.

 

In my opinion the color they screwed up the most was switching the Reds from the 8 & 9 to the 10. The red for the X looks horrible.

 

All evo's should have been white lol ... Tarmac is better though

 

Tarmac Black is better IMO. Agree with ODUB NBP from Honda/Acura is an awesome color.

My old 00 Integra GSR wore the color very well

Agreed. Black cars should be BLACK.

 

IMO, there is nothing more beautiful than a freshly washed and waxed black car. However, my red Evo can go months without washing (depending on the weather) without looking dirty. With the black car I used to own, that time was measured in minutes.

So, I think the dealer, before handing over the keys, should have you sign a paper granting then a release from all responsibility for the metal and physical stress you will encounter while trying to maintain a black car.

 

Mine used to be tarmac black...now the front looks gray since it is covered in little rock chips. Mitsu paint just blows all the way around. Color choice and quality.

 

i agree the tarmac black is better. VW's black is a good black too, but then again almost all VW color's look good

 

Thats a really great color, even on a CR-V it looks great
