Service Engine Soon Light coming on and off...

Hello,

California has been getting crazy rain and my SES light is going on and off... It was on for a day and next day it was off.... and now its back again.. I would go pull the codes but due to busy work schedule can't seem to find a time to make a trip to pep boys...

I was just wondering if any of you had this problem and if so how did you fix it? I know I can reset the SES light by disconnecting the battery but curious whats cusing the light to come on....

If you are boosting and you get a knock from your engine your cel will flash.

that doesn't happen automatically. you've got to program that in ECUflash. if he was knocking he'd have a lot more happening than just a light. car would be losing power due to pulling timing to combat the knock.

Be sure to check under the cowl and make sure this isn't your problem:

You mentioned it's raining a lot, so it's a possibility.

That is CORRECT!! While getting some suspension work done at RRE, they ran the code.. it had to do with CAT being cold and not working properly.. due to massive rain and water ... anyways thanks guys!

Most people have removed it. Removing the plastic undertray won't cause you to throw a code for the cat. I bet you have an exhaust leak, have a dying O2 sensor or cat, or have exposed wires on your O2. What is the exact code you were throwing?
