Shipping my drivetrain to AWD...

I am hoping to have my tranny and my non-acd Tcase out this week. Id like to get them sent off to AWD motorsports in hopes that they will be back before (or right at-) the end of the month.

Every quote i get is as rediculous as a no armed man playing the guitar.

..and what "class" is my **** gonna be? Is it better to put them on pallets or in boxes? Does anyone know hot much they weigh?

Thanks!

I've shipped a trans with craters and feighters. They are someone that FedEx referred me to and it was about $300 to ship to New York from Idaho. It was an auto tranny too so it was heavier than a manual trans too.

well DB Shenker has the best price. 134 to ship my tranny and tcase to florida. but damn they have no way to insure the package for over 500$. thats chump change. I might have to pass them up and go with brown. i got a revised quote of 299.17 from them but i dunno if i got the length and width right. and thats if i put them into boxes. Fed Ex with my revised information was like 700$. ..right....

I am going to call this shipping place tomorrow. Shipping this stuff with out insurance to me is as stupid as driving an evo around the city with no insurance. I dont think i can bring my self to send my **** without insurance. that just seems stupid.

really?? thats a decent track record... I wonder if I should just go with DB. I was going to pay my mechanic a little cash to pack it onto a pallet but I wonder if i should just do it to make sure i get it nice and safe gaurded... hmm soo many decisions. Hey Mike, do people just strap the parts down to the pallet or do they cover them with bubble wrap and cardboard or build a fram around them or what?

We used to strap them straight to the pallet with tie downs like a ratchet strap.. Never had an issue.. Now we have a strap setup with nylon type straps thats a commercial setup.. As long as they are secure on the pallet they should be fine.. they move it with a fork lift or pallet jack..
