I still don't like my 5 speed shifter feel. Does it have the same issues or is this only for the MR shifter?

Be careful when the linkage has increased effort, it doesn't take much to cause them to bind up and break. The 2nd day I had my car my MR linkage broke, leaving me stranded.

Try a short throw shifter and base/linkage bushings.

Damn... my welder just called me... he has 35yrs experience and can't get the base pivot to move with any trick he knows... so im just gonna have to run with the new linkage... I could chop the shaft and cut out the 3/4 but that's to much effort for something I just don't care about. I can still add the steps to the write up for it since I've worked out what needs to be done...

So far the linkage is fine. The binding I felt before was just with the mock up... the actual shifter is smooth and crisp. After a week of driving its solid and its 4 yrs old. If the new setup was gonna break the linkage id imagine there would be a sign.

so... yesterday i dropped off my shifter and some other items with my welder to have welded if you can believe it... lol anyway he called me yesterday to come pick them up cause he was done. i didnt have time due to work... this morning i wake up to a freak snow storm and half the city is shut down... to include the weld shop. i wouldnt drive my evo in this weather either way but i really wish i could piece her back together...
I"m like the mechanic version of the postman... rain snow or shine... i'm always working on the car.

i still have no clue what the above is supposed to mean...

anyway i finally got the shifter back today.... 5* outside and i'm out installing intercooler piping and a shifter... at least nobody can say i'm not dedicated to my work

so yea i installed the shifter... its very smooth... mechanical... absolutely perfect

my welder couldnt adjust the height without cutting the shaft which i didnt want to do. bummer. but he did extended the linkage tab which moved the engagement points back but not as far as i had anticipated... neutral is the same as stock and 3/4 gears are just a bit forward and back...

the full throw is now 2 3/4'' i have no idea why it keeps changing everytime i R&R but i would like to figure that out. anyway. thats the last of it for me.

forgive me about the blurry pic... its freezing outside.
