Isn't tanabe a JDM exhaust... I mean it's made in japan. It should fit right? I should probably try and call tanabe just to make sure... I had one. Til it was stolen... but then again I never had the JDM rear bumper. I wish I do =/

Reviving a thread from the dead ...

The US supplied Tanabe Concept G blue tailpipe does NOT fit properly with the JDM rear: The tailpipe sticks out too far and is located to far to the left with the muffler interfering with the bumper on the left side of the exhaust cut-out. I suspect that there is another tailpipe supplied for the JDM market.

However, the system can be fairly easily adapted: Cut exhaust just before the tailpipe silencer/muffler, cut tailpipe by 1.5". Relocate or change bracket to move silencer 1.5" inward/forward. Slightly bevel pipe to move angle of exhaust tip slight more outward. Jig up and reweld.

The most surprising bonus, apart from the better looks from the stodgy USDM bumper disappearing, was slightly less noise/resonance from the exhaust. Somehow by having the tail pipe differently angled or sticking out more due to the more sloping lower valence of the bumper there seems to be less noise transferred to the interior of the car
