Replacing Front Driver Side Axle

Quick question i am about to replace the driver side front axle. Do i really need to drain the trany fluid since the spline comes out of the transmission? Will it leak somewhere?

It "shouldnt" leak out too much if any. When you change it, only jack it up from the drivers side instead of jacking it up level. That should help with the fluid not leaking out. If youre do for a fluid change nows the time to do it.

Could anyone tell me what the spline count for the front driveshafts are? As in the CV to wheel hub spline count.
