J.D. Power Survey

It appears Mitsu listens...and cares...check it out!

"Dear Mitsubishi Owner-

Recently you returned a survey from J.D. Power and Associates about the
Initial Quality of your vehicle. We would like to follow up with you
regarding a concern you indicated on the survey. In an effort to
continuously improve the Mitsubishi product the question "Instrument
Panel/Dashboard: Squeak/Rattle" was marked and we would like to better
understand what the concern was so we can identify the cause and prevent
the concern from occurring.

Please open the attached Word document and click on the boxes that best
describe the condition. Also, there is space where you may add additional
comments.

If you are unable to open the Word document, please reply to us with as
much detail as possible when the concern happens and under what conditions.

Please understand this survey is to identify Quality issues. If you are
having a Sales/Service concern please contact the Customer Assistance
Center at: 1-(888)-Mitsu2000.

Once you have completed entering your answer(s) please forward the results
to
MitsubishiQuality.MMNA@NA (I broke the link, sorry guys ).

Sincerely,

Your Mitsubishi Quality Tracking Team"

J.D. Power apparently has some influence somewhere. I'm guessing that MMNA uses them for initial quality checks in their vehicles - sort of a subcontracted type deal.

I'm glad I HONESTLY filled out this survey and returned it. Hopefully it will help improve the quality of an already awesome car!

Right.
They send you a piece of PR material and suddenly OMG THEY CARE.
No.
But thanks for being easily swayed by public relations activity.

Thumbs up I think that's great

I've filled out more than a few JD Power quality surveys from other automakers and have never had a follow up like that.

Good job Mitsubishi.

All that cynicism will send you to an early grave, Jacob...

I think it's extremely commendable that Mitsu responded to your survey.

They should be alert to our concerns; after all, we've purchased their flagship vehicle...

I'll be sure to fill mine up with accuracy when it arrives; I just bought my Evo 2 weeks ago....

I recieved a very similar email (w/attached Word file) for checking the box related to headlight misalignment. I filled it out in detail to explain that the low beams were unsafe in how low they are aimed. Of course, I've since fixed them myself.

Now, why won't they ask my opinion about my GRINDING 2nd GEAR!?

Seriously, I'm very impressed to see the followup to the original survey. I work at an auto company.. trust me, most companies don't follow up!

Funny you mention that. Their response (as posted above) was only related to the rattle that I mentioned (coming from passenger front suspension area). However, I also mentioned something in my JD Power survey about the notchiness of the shifter and grinding of the gears while shifting. Mitsu did not address that concern at all. I did, however, address the issue in my response to the above message, along with addressing the issue about the rattle.

Let's just say I'd be surprised if the letters they receive end up anywhere other than the same place their old customer complaint records did in Japan.

We all know Mitsu's history. I don't think it's fair to call it cynicism when it's based on fact.

Apparantly my mitsu dealership is #1 in the new england area (according to the jd powers survey). They kept telling me this when I bought the car, they were very proud of this fact. After I bought the car they said that if I deliver the jd powers survey that I received in the mail to them, they would give me 2 free movie tickets. The catch is they want it unfilled out when I give it to them.
