Ouch, sucks to hear that as carbon hoods are expensive to fix. Tons of people told me to run hood pins, but I just didn't want to drill the holes and risk potentially cracking the hood. I never had the hood come up on me but it did crack a bit around the clear coat where the latch was due to opening/closing it a lot.

Ya that tends to happen alot on the eclipses from what I've seen. When I would close mine I wouldn't push down where it came lower in between the headlights, I would do it in the middle of both head lights if that makes sense to avoid that problem. U would think with the millions using cf products they would do something with the fading, peeling, cracking, and getting cloudy issues.

The best advice I can ever give anyone regarding cf is do like I do. Once I get the piece whatever it may be, I test fit to make sure its exactly for my application and what not, then I immediately take it and have it wet sanded and cleared. I have never seen a cf companies products not fade. The only piece I have ever had to remove and reclear after I have had it cleared once is the cf heat shield on my bumper and not because it fades but because the black soot from the exhaust. I wet sand it off and have it recleared so its not just black looking.
