Hey guys will standard lancer belts work in a 2005 mr? A better question I guess is where can I locate some cheap and whT are comparable with the mr ones?

 

I'm not sure they use the same seat belts as the EVO uses takata seat belts on the front and rear. Also EVO's have different stock seats than the regular lancers. You can find OEM EVO seat belts on ebay or the part out sales forum on EVOM. Any EVO seat belts should work fine though.

 

i have all the rear seat belts from my evo sitting in my garage. pm me if you are interested. i will sell cheap.

 

I think I only need the front ones man sorry. And the car was totaled so can I simply buy new assemblys? There aren't any sensors that are tripped by air bag deployment?

 

I'm not 100% sure on Evos, but I replaced the belts in my STi and they have CO2 cartridges built into the seat belt tensioner that tightens up the belts in case of an accident, and you'll want to get similar belts because there's a SRS wire that hooks up to them. If it's not hooked up, your SRS light will be on and the whole system disabled.

 

They look the same to me.
