What exactly does the A/C fan do?

Obviously the fan aids in the proper functioning of the A/C system, but what exactly does it do?

it helps cool the condenser just like a radiator.

if you removed the A/C i have noticed the fan still go's on when the radiator fan kicks on.

I was more thinking of pulling that fan for now, keeping the rest of the A/C system until I don't mind pulling the rest of it. It's probably fine when driving with the A/C on, but just like a radiator, if your sitting at a light, the temps start to go up.

i dont think your going to gain anything in doing so. IMO leave it if your leaving the A/C.

Not looking to gain anything, just to shed weight from something I use less than a handful of times a year.

i just weighed it. 5.0lbs. leave it on. or remove the hole A/C. OR get your self a slim fan. 1/2 the weight and will still do the same job.
