boost mistake need some reassurance
I'd like to preface this with I've owned my evo for 5 years now and it has never been above 24PSI and it is safely tuned with walbro.
Upon getting a retune for my new Turbo XS intercooler I installed I somehow must have been sleeping when turning the boost controller up not as gradually as I should have (such a stupid mistake that is turbo 101 I know).. after 5 years of taking logs and installing parts its quite embarassing.
It spiked at 30 PSI and I immediately pulled over and turned it back down to 23. I'm hoping for some reassurance as everything feels to be running OK.
I do not have headstuds, what kind of indications can I look for (other than checking for leaks) to make sure my car is ok? Thanks!

well I was hiting WOT and it peaked at from what I can tell 30 (Boost gauge only goes that high).. just one time and then I immediately let off the throttle

If you are really worried, take the intake off the turbo and check for shaft play. If you have a good tune, you didn't go lean enough to hurt the engine and the chance of over spinning the turbo is slim to none.
If there are no obvious signs of damage, your motor is definitely okay. What kind of boost controller do you have? As the above poster said, I would take the intake off of the car and give the shaft inside the turbo a wiggle and see if theres any play back and forth (this indicates "shaft play" if you are unfamilia with the idea, just so you know, it means that the turbo is showing signs of wear and at some point the turbo will have consequences because of that.
