new clutch time?

Hey everyone, I searched and couldnt find a specific answer explaining my issue so even though it may be hard to diagnos, I thought Id ask. When going up my drive away, as i go up in 1st gear and am letting off the clutch, there is this really hard grinding noise and there is vibration under my feet and the car shakes and almost stalls..usually only happens when i try to go uphill (ie. driveway) AND even happens when i let off the clutch and start to go from a complete stop in first...new clutch? its an 05 evo viii with 34k miles on it. From reading, it seems like thats what the issue and for the the MOST* part these clutches go out early...any other ideas? Cheers

Jack

i THINK it may be..even on the highway during higher rpms you hear a lot of engine noise as the car accelerates...i guess ill go to the stealership and see if they can tell me a quick answer, without that 100 dollar diagnostic -___-

Based on what others have reported here, the lifetime of the OEM clutch is between 10K and 200K+ depending on the driver and horsepower.

The OEM clutch will chatter a bit, mine always has since new. I am now at 73K. If yours is doing this a lot then something in the clutch is probably warped due to heat.

Im thinking it has something to do with the driver - i'm at 75k on mine, with 420whp. So its not a terrible clutch.

Yup, sounds like normal clutch chatter from the OEM clutch, mine does it mostly going up my driveway slowly also especially in reverse.

I'm thinking not.. I had an 03 Viii and had a similar issue but this makes me more paranoid because of the amount of vibration underneath my feet..thanks for your help guys
