Wideband tuning
Wideband tuning
Okay guys I got the mr on the road. I have a boost gauge and an aem eugo on the way along with a forge UNOs mbc. I'm thinking I can just turn controller all the way down and just up it a few click and tune the car that way to the correct af ratio is that correct?? The car has hks 280 cams fidanza gears walbro pump open filter mishimoto radiator evo 9 wastegate and I think that's all. It was tuned awhile back by ttp engineering at 23 psi with all those mods except the radiator and a different controller. That tune should still be in the ems. Can I just up the boost from stock until the af is right? Also what af is usually ran on 93 octane? Thanks for the help guys
if you want that car to run long, stay away from TTP....
dont touch boost unless your tuned for it
any power and ground will do with installing the guage
11.3-11.7 is a good A/F reading on pump gas. that all depends on how agressive the tune is though

Well the tune in the car is still in the ecu. It was reflashed at 23 psi on 93 octane with the exact way the car sits aside fro it had a Hallman mbc and now it has a forge. So I assumed that since it's already tuned for 23 I should be able to run 22 ish and it should be online with the tune correct? I can varify af with the gauge at that point
what makes you sure that the car is still running that tune?
the ecu can only hold one tune at a time just a heads up
regardless I would not just turn the mbc until your gauge shows 23 psi...mechanical boost gauges are notoriously inaccurate

Well I wasn't going to trust the boost gauge more than the wideband. There was one owner between me and Corey and that was a dealer and they didn't take the car back to stock so I assumed the tune is there. I was just gonna run the control from all the way down then pull it up a few clicks at a time until the af gets to 11.3-11.5 ish on the uego at wot. Do you think that would be okay?

I personally would get the vehicle re-tuned...TTP doesn't have the greatest reputation in the evo world
Like stated about mechanical gauges are known to be inaccurate when trying to set boost...
I'd set it around 21 psi and monitor knock and afr's to make sure both are in check...

im sorry, but if you do not know how to monitor knock, you should not be messing with your boost/tune or anything that will affect afr....
take the car to a professional before your posting on here about how you blew the motor

Especially since you're not 100% sure the tune on the car is for the mods you have...you could be setting yourself up for disaster...not a good idea.
Either get EvoScan and a tactrix cable and begin to log and learn to tune yourself, or take it to someone that can tune it for you.
