More news on release of Evo Vll or Vlll!!!
Hey guys whats up, went to the Mitsu dealer last night in lancaster pa and the guy there said that the Evo 8 is scheduled for January. He got word of Mitsubishi that an Evo model will be on showroom floors GARUNTEED in January. So I'm putting my deposit. I'll be the 4th one in lancaster to do so. And he said those who have deposits on Evo Vll's will......their deposits carry over to the Evo Vll if they choose to do so(DUHH). Any Questions???
As far as the dealers are concerned, you're deposit is for an Evo, they dont really care what its called. MMSA might even change the name of Evo7/8 to just Evolution without any numbers on the end since putting a number on the end might create confusion among ppl who dont know any better. so, yeah, your desposit is safe.
Deposits
Deposits are safe. You will get an Evo (whatever it's called) so long as THAT is what the written agreement from the dealer is. You also need to have that agreement state that you will receive one during the first wave of deliveries, that it will be of the color and with the options that you specify, and that you will be charged some price (relative to MSRP or invoice) which is stipulted in the agreement.
If you are serious about buying an Evo (whatever they call it), join the Buyers' Group. Once we have 15 people, negotiations and discussions will begin with anticipation of placing deposits within the next 2-3 weeks. If dealers are amenable to more than this initial 15, and able to deliver the vehicles as stipulated, we will allow the group to add members after that time. Our goal is to LOCK DOWN a written agreement for Evo VIII's (regardless of what they are called when they arrive) at MSRP with our options, delivered in the first days/weeks of car hitting showroom floors.

Hey.... who did you talk to at Lancaster Mitsu???? I am #1 there, and I just talked to Andy or Matt Fox (i think that is his name) (my salesguy), and he claims that I am still the only one who put $ down, and that they know nothing other than it is supposed to be here sometime.??
What gives??
What gives??
I just talked to them earlier this morning.... I don't really care, as long as I am #1
anyway.... it just seemed odd that the guy i talked to (this morning) told me that no one was behind me yet. I have a printed copy of my deal with me being #1 with right of refusal if i don't want it.

No...that fizzled into nothing... i could not get any even remotely interested, and in fact could not even get my own car... after 4+ months of waiting i got my deposit back and bought a S2000. I would still love to get a megabusa (0-100 in 8.5 seconds kicks ***!!!).
Someday I will pursue that again.

Nice, how do you like the S2000? If for some reason I can't get an Evo, I'm gonna get an S2000. What color is yours? I'll have to keep an eye out for it when I'm driving around Mechanicsburg.

Silver S2000... i had a red one but sold it for the megabusa...which never materialized.....
I should have a Mugen Exhaust on the S2000 within 2 weeks or so.... that will distinguish me from the other S2000's around here (all old folks with 100% stock cars and they drive like little lady's.)
I'll be on the look out for your VR6
