Boost leak test, air coming out of oil cap, Video!

Problem after problem with this car, but here is the new one,
Did a boost leak test today and when i was doing it for some reason the air would come out of the oil cap, the only thing i can think of is that the turbo oil seals are bad, I am loosing oil that i can not seem to find where it goes, the car does not smoke, well its hard to tell since its still cold.

Thanks for the help.

here is the video.

well.. i'd do a cylinder leakage test to see if your piston rings are bad or even the valve train.

I think you are supposed to unplug the PVC hose that goes to the IM and leave the check valve open, and vent the breather side of the valve cover outside of the car. Then you won't have the crankcase being pressurized, that's why it's coming out of the oil cap.

you should really have a pressure guage on your boost leak tester to make sure that you don't over-pressurize the system...

is the crankcase vent hose on the driver side(right side) of the valve cover still hooked up to the intake pipe? a better way to do the test is to hook the coupler straight to the turbo.

I had the same thing happen the first (and last) time I tried to do a boost leak test. Subscribing for answer to this.

It only makes that the PCV (check valve) is bad. It's highly unlikely that the rings would be that bad. Take the PCV off, blow on it from each end. If the air goes through at both ends, get another PCV.

Agreed with the PCV, If the piston rings were bad you would definitely be seeing blue some if you were getting oil blow by.

He also still has the breather hooked up to the intake pipe and is going a boost leak on the intake and not turbo .....

Calm down guys (That said check your motor ) everything is fine !

The only 2 things I can think of that could cause this:

1. Bad PCV valve, sticking open, allowing valve cover to be pressurized.
2. Bad valve stem seals (unlikely, as you would be using a noticeable amount of oil)
