Grind in 2nd 06' MR

Hello I just bought my 06' evo mr with 41k. And when cold 2nd gear grinds and slightly goes away when it warms up what can I do to fix this?

I have no records of that but will do the fluids, thanks.
One more question um gonna do the drivetrain fluids I was wondering when changing the transaxle fluid it's also the front diff fluid in the same case right? The only other ones are transfer case and rear diff right?

Yeah I would get all new fluids. Even the c6 vettes have this problem.

The grind is normal, no guarantee the grind will go away when you change the fluids. I bought my MR from an older guy and even after replacing the fluid using OEM Diaqueen it's so bad in the cold I have to skip 2nd gear till the trans warms up.

It's just the thick gear oil, that's why it gets better as it warms up.

You can also adjust the clutch pedal, this helped me get rid of the grind completely after warm up.

I would keep stock fluids in. I do that in my MR and no problems at all.

the stock trans fluid in an MR sucks. i switched to amsoil years ago and the trans is so much smoother. i have never once had my trans grind when cold on amsoil either.

I think it is normal. Mine does it a bit, its just cold metal that is contracted. Once it warms up its fine. I wouldnt worry about it. Def change trans fluids regularly tho.

My 06 MR with 53 000k does the same *&$*#@ thing. I have the stock trans fluid but it need to be replace. It is very annoying when it's -13 F outside ... takes a lot of time to warm up....

Obviously, no one will agree with the best oil to put on a MR.

I guess i will use the oem again ...

I rebuilt my 6sp at 27k miles.. So I have about 20k on the rebuilt one now. I have the same issue in the cold. I drive it slow and dont' ram it into 2nd but its a bit notchy.. I use OEM fluid. I don't think its that uncommon.
