Any bored with their Evos yet?
haha good point. IF u could fill a cup 3/4 to the brim, drive around a mountain, drifting and wat not, and get to the bottom w/ the same 3/4 full cup of water, then damn, u need to start competing at a super high level, and leave the rest of us Itsuki Takeuchi "Zigy"'s alone! cause we love our hachi roku's ... and uhmmm if you can drift backwards down a hill blind folded, then you dont belong on this forum

Ummm, Dr. Evo,, this guy says he has been to sevral race tracks with his evo.... I think he has driven it towards the upper limits.
You might be off base with some of your comments.
Some people do get tired of things, no matter how nice they are.
But you will be hard pressed to find a car on par with the evo.
You will be able to find one with close to performance, and much nicer comfort,,, but for tens of thousands more???
I have thought quit a bit on what I would replace this car with, you just have to wait and see, new models are always in the near future.
I for one would like to see the T-REX, half car half bike come to the REAL car market. That would be pretty fun to tool around in!!!!
Also I just seen on TV the other day Mercedes has a concept car that when you turn, the wheels angle into the street just like one would skiing down a mountian. On its edge. Could you see how this could turn the sports car world onto a new idea???
New things are always out there, but for right now,, you would be hard pressed to find a better driving machine.
Good luck!!!

I'm thinkin if ur bored w/ the evo wait for the GT-R!!!!! 2007 400 hp v8 awd ... uhmmm is it possible to load a production car w/ more stuff(and they say its gonna be semi-affordable - wtf does dat mean)? ... did i mention its a skyline?? there's ur baby if ur bored w/ evo. I would take the new skyline over evo any day ... hehe sorry guys.
What you are going through is natural i guess Its like if you have a fine *** woman that you have the best sex with that cooks and cleans for you, that doesnt mean you wont cheat on her, you wanna see whats out there, its your animal instinct.
s4 - what are you thinking is next? For an all around performance machine there is really not anything in the price range that can compete (STI Maybe).
if you want muscle power and relatively affordable - 2003-2004 Cobra's make you smile like an idiot for a while (mine does 0-130 in 16 seconds).....
if you spend some $, get a Z0-6 or Viper.... both will crush the evo on a road course (not auto-x unless it is a huge course).... neither is awd, but you already have that covered.....
if you want people to smile at you, a mini cooper would be cool.
let us know what you get when you sell your Evo......

They will crush the evo stock, I think I should be able to hang with them now, I will let you know. 350WHP should hang with the viper and Z06, Z06 puts down about 340ish.

on a decent road course with semi large straights you will be hindered by the lack of 6th speeds..... the gap from 4th - 5th is fairly large.... plus you are talking about a stock zo-6 vs a fairly modified (time bomb potentially) evo..... you are up 120whp over stock......
Stock, my Evo is slower on the big straight summit point than a stock S2000 (gearing and weight).... but.... i have faster lap times (i am comparing myself driving my stock S2000 to myself driving my stock evo)......

I believe it is human nature to get bored with anything. My strategy is to keep it interesting by modding whenever I get bored. If the mods start getting too extreme or too expensive I sell the car and upgrade. This is what brought me from my WRX to the EVO.
As with anything, you get used to it. When you get into a faster car, it feels really fast. If you drive that car for a year you get used to the performance and lust after more. It is a sickness, it is contagious and expensive -- but ever so worth it.
The only car I have ever owned that I have not felt this with is my Caterham Superlight. It is either that the experience is so raw or that the car is so fast. That and I don’t drive it on a daily basis -- so I guess I can’t get bored.

In fact, won is an understatement. The team of Higgins
and B??? won seven out of nine events, and one of the ones
they lost was simply because the co-driver had to quit with
a bad case of the flu.
There were two Evo VIIIs from Mitsu running this year. I believe
both were driven by the same English team. I think the other
one ranked second or third. The photo of the winning car in
SportsCar magazine made it look hardly modified at all, by
the way. My guess is all they do is enhance the turbo and
ECU a bit to get up to 320 HP, and maybe put on different
brakes and wheels.
Anyone have more info about the Pro Rally cars?
Michael
I can relate to getting bored wih cars...I sent through a slew of them recently...a 500 rwhp cobra, z06, WRX...now I have a c32 with close to 400hp and a zx12. I've been looking real hard at the EVO because as fun as the c32 is, I miss shifting, it lacks that fundemental driver involvement. Evo's and STI's are now coming on the market used and look like good buys...I don't think i'll get bored with it as a weekend car...just my .02 cents
