With a 2.4L at 28+ psi you will murder a bolt-on SS. It won't even be funny. (well funny for you!) They are heavy as hell and not very powerful.

 

So basically every important good-power adding bolt-on available for the engine?? Throwing the word "easy" in there makes it sound like it's in fact easy. The mods you listed are pretty much all the big mods you can do to the engine before you start ripping it apart.

In the same respect an Evo 9 can easily make 100whp over stock with cut-out, mbc, cams, fmic with LICP and a tune. And there is still more to be had before having to tear into the block or head (cams are in the head, yes, but are more of a drop-in affair than a full head build).

Not saying that the LS3 is bad, but we can throw out the word "easy" when making over 100whp over stock on a few different engines. And when you use up all the big mods it's not exactly easy.

Otherwise I do agree that the LS3 is a great engine. I do like the 5.0 more though.

Haha you have all those mods on your car yet you don't know if you can take him? Like you said, if he's really just BPU..unless he's got something crazy tacked on...you have him for sure.

 

Dude personally I think you would walk the dog sh*t out of one. My good friend has a brand new 2SS camaro every option but the sunroof we scaled the car last night actually and it weighted in just over 3700lbs with no driver and very little gas.

My GSR weighed in at 3051 with a 1/4 tank and no driver. My car has some goodies and boost is at 25psi. I raced him (at a race track of course) from a 20ish roll and pulled 5-6 cars on him untill middle of third when we started doing over 100 he started coming up 1/8 no chance 1/4 no chance 20-120 no chance the car is a boat.

BTW car is rated at 426hp 2 weeks ago the car put down 363rwhp on a mustang dyno

 

my evo is basically stock and i raced a ss 2 times in a row and beat it by half a car both times

I guess the only thing on my mind is that what if he has something nice under there...maybe if i just go with a red instead of the green ill be calm..ill try to find out what he has.and for sure ill keep you guys updated

 

Also if his is auto they have less hp then the ones with a stick. It would be 400 not 425...but like you said its got some mods...still no problem for you unless he has spray and even then id say you had it

 

I beat my friends 1SS Camaro with ease at only 335whp max(have a leaking diverter valve).

If you have all those mods you say you have, with that HTA GREEN on the 2.4 you should be able to run high 10's easy with 130+ traps. With the 2.0 and all your mods you'll still kill him....

Even with a supercharger under the hood you'll take him, unless he has a excellent driver mod and gumball slicks, with lightning fast shifts or NLS.
