A quick question...

Recently, ive been experiencing some break issues. Not so much a problem really, but an annoyance. The right break has started not to squeak, which i realize is common, but make more of a crunch noise. I'm not too sure how to explain it, but, at a stand still, if i press the breaks a bit hard, it makes a crunch noise, like metal on metal. I checked the break pads out, and they're not worn out or anything. I've tried hosing the mother lover down to get rid of break dust, but, no cigar.

What else could it be?

Did you recently replace the pads?

If so - did you resurface the rotors or replace the rotors?

If not - how many miles (rough) are on the pads?

Do you have shims on there? Were they properly greased upon install? How long have you had those brakes on there, are they a recent install or have they been on there for a while?

they're the stock pads. cant say for sure how many miles were put on em', i bought the car used, but, its not so much a squeal as it is a crunch.

i haven't done anything to the breaks upon buying them either

also, i was told the breaks were relatively decent, and, are in working order. not all the breaks are making this noise, just one.

I would check the pads again if I were you. The stock brembo brake pads wear out quick!

while that may be the case, there are 3 other pads that should have been semi worn out, but, they're fine as well. I've checked out the pads. They're fine...not too worn out.
