Another Modding question :/
Another Modding question :/
Yea yea, i know you guys get a trillion of them, but this one (hopefully) is slightly different.
I have people tell me its better to take mods at stages, rather than just dumping a load of cash into the car and making it go fast. I also have people who say taking steps in the long run is more expensive, and produces the same results...
So whats your take? Step by step, or, dump like 6-7g into the car at once, and make that baby fly?

I have been working on my honda for 5 years just stock piling parts. Trust me it is hard for stiff to just sit and not go on not to mention sometimes I just wish I could sell it and get my money back but I know it would never happen. My evo will get built step by step so I have longer to enjoy it
It depends on the kind of money you are looking at spending. If you can afford to do retunes after all the mods that necessitate one then just do it step by step. If you don't have a lot of money, save up for at least a few mods at a time them do a retune. This would probably save you a thousand dollars or more in retunes and labor by the time you are finished modding the car.
A few things to think about. By going slow you get to learn the car and handle the power after each mod. why with just dropping a lot of money in to the car. you will get a much faster car quicker. and the last thing any of us would want is for you to hurt your self. as well make sure you look in to the parts before you drop that much money in to it fast dont just by things to buy things just my .02 cents
the longer you take to "finish" the car(as if that ever happens), the newer the technology youll have on it when it is done. i know if i did everything all at once something new and better would come out and i would want that instead of what i bought originally. just look at turbos and cams for instance, there is always something new and better than before if your patient. i say take it slow, learn to handle the car as you go and you will enjoy it more in the end. in addition to that, half the fun for me is feeling the power of that new mod which eventually wears off as I get used to it. if I did everything all at once I would probably be bored with the car by now. Hope that helps

Thanks guys...
I was thinking of getting the AMS gt35r kit with khs cams, a bigger fuel pump, and a new clutch to get me started, but so much power at once...especially in my evil hands... >
i was thinking of taking it step by step as well, leaving the gigantic turbo upgrade till the end.
I know the gt30 and the gt35 are one of the best at spool times/power, but, going by this whole new technology thing, has anything new come out to rival these giants?

fp blacks have been pushing pretty big numbers, maybe not quite 35r peak power in most cases but damn close and arguably better for street use, all depends on what you want to do with it. also for the record people seem to like GSC cams best..kelford, fp, and cosworth might be worth a look also
