-Whats the mileage on the car?

-Does it at least make a clicking sound or no sounds at all when trying to turn over.?

-You hear the fuel pump on?

I remember a friend with an old honda had that problem. Some Ignition sensor was bad and he would just keep turning the key until it started up.

More details = better answers

Think you can remove the starter and have it tested at a part store. Although it may seem like a lot of work to test it but its better than throwing money at it hoping it works.

Do you have a way to check battery voltage? If it low the car can act funny and start sometimes

clicking is the battery.... you can always whack the starter with a socket wrench and see if it starts up..but i'm pretty sure its the battery

My 03 is having this SAME issue! Glad to see another thread up...maybe I shouldent be?

I get into my car and try to start it, sometimes it fires up on the first turn, other times it takes 20 tries. All power comes on in my car, radio, turbo timer, dash lights, everything. However only sometimes I hear a click going to the starter, the fuel pump does come on. I dont want to go out and get a new starter if I dont have to. I tried messing with the ground wires a bit and it didnt help, im also thinking maybe clutch ground or position sensor...but how can i be sure?

Make sure the little wire coming down to the starter solenoid is making good contact. Seen this be an issue in a couple EVOS over the years.
