Just as the title states, I replaced my alternator on wednesday. Ever since the battery was unhooked and then the new alternator is on it has not worked. The light still works just no reading. It's still plugged into the vacuum "T" and plugged into the gauge. Is this a coincidence? It is an autometer phantom series.

Check the lines for no cracks, cuts, etc.

If that doesn't work, do a boost leak test. Is it reading vacuum?

 

No it doesn't read vacuum either. If I'm driving every now and then the needle with bounce a little from about negative 2 (-) positive 2 but thats probably just vibration
