getting shocked by car
So this is a weird one. The last few days, when exiting the car WHEN THE IGNITION IS OFF BUT TURBO TIMER IS RUNNING, I get a little ZAP when I touch the body. Now, when the car is running, no shock. When car is off, no shock. Just when the ignition is off and the timer is running. I looked for a short, cant see anything. No ill effects driving wise.
Ideas?

If it were really some sort of electrical problem it'd shock you continuously when you held on (or blow a fuse, but if it were enough to blow a fuse it would also kill you I believe
). I try to touch my shoulder to the top of the door frame when I get out, the shock through clothes seems to "lessen the blow" a bit.

I always grab the roof and hold on to metal as I slide out that way the static discharges into the body of the car before it builds enough to jump to the car which is what gives u the zap. Suede is bad about doing it especially in my honda
I was wearing a sweater a few weeks back and jumped out of the Jeep and the shock was loud enough that my wife thought I hit the ground afterwords... POP!
