What should I add before a Dyno tune?

Hey guys I'm gonna get my car Dyno tuned sometime late in the summer and I was curious and open for some input on what I should add to the set up for optimum power gains and performance without getting into the motor. Car has hks280 cams, fidanza gears (to my knowledge they are set to stock advance I bought the car with these mods and hear no lope) anyways, also have a turbo xs tbe, mishimoto radiator, forge UNOs mbc at 21.5 psi, wideband, Evo 9 bov, drop in filter with air box delete, and I believe that is it. I was thinking bigger ic and licp and hopefully they time it to 23-24 psi on 93 octane. Is there anything else I would need to look into with this setup? I'm looking for a good car capable of 11.5-11.8 (driver pending) haha. And it's dd most of the time so nothing crazy. Also the car had a walbro pump in it according to ttp engineering and everything else they said it had was true so I will trust them on that. Thanks for the input guys.

ttp doesn't have the greatest reputation on evom...I'd pull it out and have a look myself if I was you

aside from that, read the evo modding for dummies thread...I wrote it

pretty much covers any bolt on/helpful mod you'll find

Ive read it that's where i got the ic and licp ideas. I was just making sure there wasn't any other little things that weren't mentioned in the post. Like obvious little delete etc. Thanks for the help though that post is killer btw. Yeah I've heard they aren't from some ppl idk I'm unbiased but all the cams and everything else were here

Upgrade injectors, 1000cc minimum if want to run E85 later in the future.

A boost leak test would be the most important thing (Besides replacing the spark plugs/ engine fluids) before strapping on the dyno.

Another question I had may be stupid but I'm gonna ask anyway haha. Can a stock ems hold more than one tune? Like on my lightning I have an external tuner and it can have a street tune and a separate race tune that can be loaded into it within five minutes. Can anything like this be done with these cars?

^ You can do map switching on a stock ECU. On your car, you can install a switch that can hold a pump gas/race gas map.

what about the map sensors im pretty sure it is the oem map sensor and ive seen different "bar" sensors. Would there be any advantage to upgrading those if im not going internal with the motor or outside the stock turbo? I do plan to get a fp turbo on down the road but that will likely be a year or two. Also can a standard tuner do the switch flip during the dyno or will i have to have that done and wired before i go to the dyno? Is it just a toggle switch? I definitely would like to do race fuel. With the stock motor and turbo aside from my cams if on race fuel what kind of boost level could be ran? 25-26psi? I thought anything about that would just be inefficient to the turbo? sorry for so many questions haha i just wanna get the bang for my buck with the tune and dyno time.

I would do e-85 over c16 or something with the stock bottom end. If your not careful you could burn a hole in the piston's. The upgrading MAP sensor to like the GM 3 bar or AEM 7 bar (i think) is to accurately log boost. I'm not 100% sure on that though but I've heard of numerous people doing it.

ok so thats the only purpose of the upgraded map sensors? I have two gauges one autometer and one stock mr gauge so im satisfied with that. And i would love to do e85! but i would have to have a flip switch for tunes because its about an hour drive to e85 where im from. But if the dual tune flip switch deal isnt difficult i would certainly go that route with a 93 octane and an e85 tune. anyone know where a write up is of that type of setup or more info on the topic?

Dont waste your money on a bunch of fancy boltons
Gt35R Kit, Samco couplers, t bolt clamps, FMIC, Lower ic pipe, 3" turbo back, Head studs, Injectors, fuel pump, fuel rail and fpr, and a clutch.

11s all day

Anyhow there used to be a thread on here on how to make your evo run 11s with minimun $$ spent. Try serching for it.
