where can i get a decently cheap fmic and licp without paying an arm and a leg or is it unavoidable haha? ive seen ppl with the "ebay fmic" what is that? just curious. Im gonna probably dyno the car late in july and i really just wanna get my moneys worth while im at it.

I think ive decided to do 1000cc injectors, o2 housing, headers, e85/93 octane flip switch tune, bigger fmic, and a licp. Anything i am missing that already isn't on the car or i dont have listed that would hinder the e85 or keep me from running 23-24 psi on 93 and 27-28 psi on e85?

if i kept the stock fmic would that restrict the system too much with that setup?

Stock FMIC is actually pretty efficient. Otherwise I would look into TurboXS and ETS.

worse thing you can do honestly man, go cheap on exhaust parts ( downpipe, catback) do not go cheap on ic parts, I thought that way and while my XS engineering was one of the better 3" intercoolers at the time, at higher boost and horsepower numbers the cooling efficiency kinda goes out the window. Best bet if you want about 400 hp eventually look into a reputable company that makes good 3.5" intercoolers (AMS, Buschur, ETS) just to name a few. Plan your parts out so you can break your hp goal by 50, Now because my intercooler cracked and the company went out of business a few years ago, im gonna be purchasing an ETS 3.5 " intercooler to break my 450 hp on 91 octane pump gas tune.

yeah that's what i have heard. the exhaust is done with already so at least thats out of the way. i think i have decided to go with some 1000cc injectors, a good fmic, matching licp, TTP o2 housing, and some TTP tubular headers. I plan on going to an fp on down the road so i thought i would go ahead and delete the manifold and stock o2. Also the injectors are simply for e85 that i also plan to go with once i get an fp. For the time being i didn't figure they would be a problem since they can be tuned anyhow. Anything you guys think im leaving out? Basically im doing a 93 octane tune late this summer and want to shoot for 370+ whp hopefully and then next summer i am gonna go with an fp turbo and e85 tune along with another 93 octane.

IMO the best place to buy an intercooler is used here in the classifieds. thats where i got my ams for 450 shipped. looked almost brand new with no bent fins

02 housing
Turbo Back Exhaust
255LPH pump
Intake
Boost controller
(maybe injectors on how high your going)

Id do it all at once and do one tune.

If you want to save some money on labor, don't get the switch installed for map switching but have it part of the tune with TephraV7. It can be simple as turning the key to ON and step on the gas to switch maps. With your power goals being around 370whp, you should get your intake/exhaust manifolds ported instead of going tubular. The cost of a tubular is crazy expensive for the power it produces...but it does look good though.

i found a tubluar header for around 200$ ish on ttp's website. I really would probably shy away from going to race gas. If i did anything away from 93 octane it would be e85. If i went after e85, i would have a switch installed just so i could go back and forth since e85 is about 30 miles away. What are you guys' opinions on alky/methanol injection on an 05 mr? Is it worth the hassle and money? Pain in the @$$ to install? I did some googling on the nitrous sprayers and alot of ppl say thats a waste of money and alot of ppl i see running the alky kits or methanol. Im just going to have all these parts on and hopefully tuned around the middle of july and i want to make sure i dont leave off any sort of bolt on that would be worth the money to add before i strap it on the dyno

your going to have to send the intake manifold out. You should have the throttle body done at the same time.

Do not cheap out on the intercooler!! Absolutely do not buy a turboXS IC! ETS or CBRD Garrett core 3.8'' FTW!

A $200 exhaust manifold may actually make less power and is sure to crack. A good exhaust mani is going to cost $900+ no matter what turbo your bolting on.

All of this doesn't matter though because, a friend of mine that likes to drag race, same year Evo as yours, did a 11.7sec 1/4 pass with the following

AMS Tuned think he was at like 389whp
E85
AMS TBE
Megan o2 housing
Drop in air filter
ID 1000cc injectors
Walbro 255
Drives it like he stole it

Thats IT!!

So, E85, a walbro and some injectors and you should already be where you want to be.

so buy a good repped fmic and send the intake and throttle body off for porting. What kind of cost if the port job and who does most send them to?
