Buschur Ported exhaust manifold, how much was YOURS ported?

I got my Buschur manifold in, and removed my stock one. After taking a ruler, I really only noticed a 1mm difference (and thats being generous) from ported to unported on the manifold to head side. Anyone have one laying around? I am curious to see how much yours was ported. It definitely was not gasket matched by no means. I would just be curious to see if there are any variations out there?

Take a look into the collector, was it smoothed out over there? The stock one has many"steps" in it and the real gains usually more from having a smoother transition in the collector. Porting the runners doesnt do too much since they are already very thin, and no real gains from port matching the falnge because the head ports are smaller anyways.

Mine wasn't buschur ported but ppi extreme option and You can still see the roughness on the side walls and some minimal porting :/ subscribed.

The head side of the runners don't need to be opened up that much. The real gains are from getting deep into the runners from the head side, opening up the collector area, and of course gasket matching the collector outlet to turbo flange. At the very least you should also gasket match the turbine housing inlet by hand if you don't have it professionally ported to make sure the exhaust flow is as smooth as possible there.

Buschur does a good basic port job and uses a fantastic coating that holds up better than any other I've seen. If I were to do it all over again though I'd either get PPI's Extreme porting option with silver coating or get the MAP ported/coated one since they both have much more extensive and thorough portwork.

The head side is no where near gasket matched.. That would be opened up way too much..

Just curious, would gasket matching the mani a bad thing? I know it is not necessary but does it have nay negative side effects?

I havent measure it but from what i recall if you hog the manifold out to match the gasket yes it will be a bad thing.. probably lose power by killing the velocity..

Don't mean to thread jack, but can you comment in my other thread:

Also my flange is almost gasket matched, you think its too much? I figured going from a smaller opening to bigger opening would not be an issue.

Smaller to bigger isnt.. thats what porting is.. Again i have measured that gasket but hogging out a manifold doesnt make it better.. Bigger is only better to a point and then you go backwards..
