Members/owners affected by the storms okay?

I want to make sure all the evo owners and members are safe after the recent storms that have torn through the central and eastern part of the U.S. over the past week.

I know there have been huge storms and many deaths due to flooding and tornados. I know there has been much property damage and homes and cars lost.

Just want to check up on the members and owners in the areas affected by the storms. I would put this in the regional section but the storms covered so many states I do not think that would be the best route, if the mods know of a better place for this I am fine with them moving it though.

That being said we are a community of our own here. I have learned a great deal about the evo and cars in general thanks to the members of this site. I hope everyone is okay. Some might think it is a bit soon but I feel we need reports from the members.

As for myself. I got was blessed for the most part. My basement is wet due to the amount of water soaking through the ground and seeping up through the floor and along the edges (already squeegeed out maybe 3+ gallons of water). Other than that my family has been safe. Even though there were many tornados going through the area we are safe. A few close calls but we are safe and so is the evo.

What about everyone else?

I was also lucky. Their was golfball size hail about six miles from my house and only pea sized at my house whicch was a close call. Terrible winds knocked trees down on our gravel road which made for a long day with a chainsaw. Other than that everythings good here. Thanks for asking and for your concern. For those with the sarcasm, grow up. People lost their lives and countless others lost everything they own. Have some respect instead of trying to get ur post count up saying my car blew away and I died.

Glad to hear you are okay.

I know there are plenty still without power and still in danger of flooding. They are talking about possibly blowing some levees near here and either flooding a town or miles of farm land. They are still debating on whether or not to do it as more water moves this way. The best part is there is more rain and storms coming tonight and tomorrow.

^hopefully they aren't as bad as the last go around. We should be thankful us that it didn't affect and keep those who lost their lives including those in the tornado in alabama and all who lost everything they own in our prayers.

Here's a great idea, im sure they already have groups that are taking donations for those who lost everything, evom should come up with one and us give back to the communities to show not all of us with cars like ours are just out to terrorize the streets and such. Make a better name for ourselves while giving back to those who have nothing now.

crazy wind and rain here. Shingles blown off, some of the wood on the corner of the house is gone leaving a hole. Ceiling is wet in many places and there was a huge puddle of water in the bathroom. Landlord is taking her sweet *** time too

Yeah we can only pray they stay calm this time and produce only little or no rain. It is already clouding up here now as the storms are moving back in.

I had the great joy of having to fix the motor coupler on our washer in a still wet basement. I am squegeeing less water today than the days before but it is still wet down there. Next I have to work on getting some siding put up (just enough came off the "dog house" part to be below the deductable).

I like the idea of doing something with our cars to help. Sort of like the bikes for ***** type of thing. Maybe it could be called street cars for storms or something.

We cut down all but our two small trees a few years back when some other storms hit. At the time the storms hit the evo was in the garage and I was out with the beater subie. I do not care if it gets hail damage

Sounds like you got hit pretty badly. Sorry to hear that.

Hopefully the landlord starts getting things done soon. At least the landlord has to pay for the damage and you do not have to worry about it. Thankfully you all are safe.

Hopefully the business is not affected too much. Again, glad to hear you are all okay and I hope things get fixed soon.

I spent those evenings watching the Weather Channel. With reporters in the field and experts giving minute by minute warnings from the studio, they are to be congratulated for outstanding coverage of the storms. My heart goes out to the people whose lives were devastated.

When weather threatens on the high plains, where I live, and we huddle in basements, the Weather Channel puts on 'Storm Stories'. I guess we don't have enough viewer ship here for their sponsors.
