Any possibility for aftermarket headlights?

One of the main issues I've seen with evo's is the headlights: super expensive from Mitsubishi, older cars (03's and such) are starting to haze up, and some people just do not want to take the risk of baking them (for blacking out) when they realize how much they cost. Plus, short of parted out cars, there's no real supply of replacement ones.

Does anyone have any leads for a manufacturer that would be willing to build us a replica set of OEM headlights, just blacked out (i.e. 9's)? I'm sure there are tons of people who would be interested in this. I tried contacting DEPO (they make the JDM replica tails) but did not get a response.

Any thoughts?

Baking your headlights is easier then you think. Cleaning your hazed headlights will cost a lot less than buying a new or "aftermarket" headlight.

Very few companies make OE replacements. They usually make "cooler" (subjective) replacements. Depo would've been my first choice. Longshot.......maybe TYC. It has to be financially feasible for them to do it and I'm willing to bet most Evo owners would spend the money for the US/UK/JDM authentic if they wanted a replacement then aftermarket knockoff ones.

You know the cleaners they have if you do it right will make the headlights look brand new.

My headlights don't actually have any issues (thankfully), they've had a clear bra on them since day 1 and are pretty mint. My issue is that the JDM lights are *VERY* expensive, much more than I'm willing to spend. I just wish DEPO or TYC would make replacement ones, I'm sure there's a lot of money to be had in the market.

If ur looking to get rid of the oxidation check out my how to thread. It has three different methods of temp fix, one that im still testing to see how long the fix lasts so far so good, and one method that is permanent. If ur wanting the black housing ones baking them and re sealing them is not as hard as u think as stated before.

true there are way to make old headlights look new, but take me for example i am on the hunt for a set because the car i bought doesnt have any. New they are 2700 for the set from the dealership, and ebay ( if you can find them ) are 700 give or take. Hell i would even take non HID housings and ill put aftermarket HIDs in them

I saw this on ebaymotors..it says it fits evolution, with 7 day return policy. I've never seen aftermarket headlights for Evos before, I just thought I'd post this to see what everyone thinks.

I am planning on opening mine up via oven and spraying them black, I would however rather find some TYC's style alreaady blacked out that are much cheaper. I'd pay for that in a heartbeat. Sell the OEM's for bank and spend less for the aftermarket all that matters is that they have a projector bezel so your HID bulbs are still clean and clear.

Nice, Depo finally makes them. And cheaper than just the covers at the dealership too. Now to find out if I can take the covers off of this as easy as the OEMs.

There's no way that'll fit an Evo. Look at the outline of it..

+2 those headlights are for the normal Lancers man. Plus they're ugly IMO.

I think they sell lancer and Evo headlights..you could always ask the seller. I prefer OEM, but I thought I'd post this since it's the only aftermarket headlights I have seen posted on eBay.
