Very weird idle! (with video) PLEASE HELP!!!
in the works to be done... just gotta make up the tester.
Also found out as the car's JDM it has the SAS valve which been told by another VII owner can cause that as well... will block it off and see.
EDIT: GOOD TIMES!
It seemingly WAS my SAS... blanked it off and it's idling great.

bumping this up with a question. I replaced my EGR valve with a used one from a local member. This holds more pressure but im sure its leaking a little. This helped my idle and now im running more vacuum. I can hear the weird idle for little bit but alot smoother then before. I also changed my shaft seals since they were leaking also. I would like to know if anyone else has any other ideas on where a vacuum leak could be. Im going to delete my whole egr system soon.
For those of you who replaced the EGR solenoid, is this the correct part?

Is this a good price?

SPARK PLUGS ! ! ! One of the more important items for any Evo is the proper plugs used every time. This will happen either right off or a few miles down the road.
You might find the plug that’s having the issue if you do this: While engine running and wearing rubber gloves, pull a spark plug boot one at a time just half way out and see if the idle returns to normal or changes for the better. If for the worse than that’s not the one with the issue. Replace all or the one with issue, either way if the others are not the proper ones this will happen agin trust me
.
If after this you still have issue with idle you can start looking at more expensive issue. Hope this helps.

If you start pulling the wire out and the idle starts getting better than you have found the bad spark plug yes, if the idle get worse than that plug/wire is good/working. And if nothing happens then your totaly in the right place.
Did this just a month ago by accident and found the spark plugs where not the right one’s (last replaced but a local shop that I will never revisit lol).
This is just something else to try, worked for me at least.

Dude I was totally able to reproduce your idle while messing with boost gage hose routing today. Forgot to connect one of the hoses and got the same weird idle as in your video. I'm not saying you're have a vacuum issue but something to look into for sure. There are like 100 hoses under that hood.
