Mivec problem

What would happen if the mivec goes bad I recent did a build and drove it 300 miles and started getting a ticking noise replaced the litters and the car has good compression and starts fine

So the mivec is locked up and is making a bad noise. Help please

Slow down... tell us more. What did you build, why do you think it's MIVEC?

Did you just install cams without bleeding the lifters? They HAVE to be bled or it will tick and possibly cause damage.

We need more info to go on here....

ok i just finished my 2.4 mivec build and i primed the cam gear , and oil pump it should have primed the lifters there was oil coming up from them .

any ways i gotr the start up tuned alright and started have what seemd to be a lifter ticking so my guy was like no big deal .

we drove the car 330 miles checking over everything visable like every 50 miles so i am going up a incline on my way home and i get a miss . then thats when th noise started getting louder it sounded some what the same but louder and constant but accels as the car revs come up

we changed the lifter and notice the cam gear was locked , so my guy took the gear apart cleaned it and the noise is quieter and changed pitch it sounds exACTLY

like a few on here that have posted viedeos on thinking lifters are bad and some changed the cam gear.

the only think we didnt put back in was the mivec filter . any idea what coulda happend

Lack of filter allowing particulate to block oil passage holes and or solenoid valve assy.
