Turn signal WONT CANCEL

I bought an evo about 2 months ago and I have been slowly replacing the parts that were broken on it. Well, the blinker wont cancel and after doing some research I determined that it was the clock spring. I bought a new clock spring and installed it, the problem remained. I checked all the fuses and they were good. I am lost, I noticed there are slots in the back of the steering wheel and I don't have any parts that connects to the back of the steering wheel. Am I missing something?

I haven't had the evo one apart yet but I have had to replace the turn signal lever on fords to fix this issue. When you have the lever off and put it in the turn position does a piece of plastic pop out for the strikers to hit for the cancel?

Yes the little plastic piece pops out but there is nothing that hits it to cancel it...Do you know what the part is called?

I just looked in my workshop manual and didn't see any other parts besides the clock spring and the lever assy. The pictures it does show makes it look like the cancel "wheel" is integrated into the clockspring assy.

I know fords had another piece that slid over the shaft for the cancel, maybe it's something along those lines? If my car weren't 5 hours away I'd pull it apart to look since it bothers me when I don't know things like this!

I'd give Russell a PM about it, if anyone would know he should!

It's a mechanical problem you have. This little guy pops out towards the hub and there is supposed to be catch points on the back of the wheel to impact it as the wheel is rotated past a certain point or a slip on ring like SHO699 said. Sorry if this seems a bit redundant as I don't know the actual name of the part either
