Fidanza cam gears timing marks are off?

Was doing hks 272 cams and fidanza cam gears and noticed a problem with them which I hope I am correct about. What I found was on a stock cam if you were to draw a straight line threw the center of the 17mm bolt hole and thru the dowel hole for the cam you would land one tooth behind the timing mark. On the fidanza gears he got if you were to do the same it wouldnt land on the tooth behind it would land on the timing mark they put. So am I right in saying that it's off? The way I have it looks like the gears are off when at tdc but the cams are in the position I think they are suppose to be.

Here are some pics and let me know what you think, I just wanna make sure I did it right before putting rest of the timing stuff back on.

It's kinda hard to tell by the pics of the gears on the car I wish I would of noticed while they were off.

Never had that problem with Fidanza gears. Looks to me like the crank is off a tooth.

look at the cam gear...there are 2 holes. One sais evo, you dont have it in the evo hole. Put it in the evo hole, and line up the mark that is straight up from that hole, instead of the mark you have it on now.

Idk if you guys get what I'm trying to explain on the stock cam gear, when I put the straight edge over the center hold for the cam bolt and the center of the dowel it does not line up with the timing mark on the tooth. It lands one tooth behind. Now when I hold a straight edge over the center hole on the fidanza gears, the dowel pin hole it directly hits the timing mark(I should take a pic). And it doesn't matter which dowel pin hole I use. So if I was to put the fidanza gears in the proper position where the timing marks on the cam gear match the valve cover the intake cam and exhaust cam would be advanced one tooth. Catch my drift? Idk if these are from a bad batch or something but I did a search and alot of dsm guys running these make complaints about the marks being off.

i always hated the fidanza gears because of that...the numbers need to be at the 3 oclock position once the dowel is in the correct location..
