Question Creative GoPro HeroHD Camera Mount?

I'd like to have it mounted in car between the driver and passenger seats.
I don't have a harness bar.

So I'm sitting here looking at the dome light and wondering if I can make something work.
Unfortunately it looks too small to pop the suction mount on it. And I can't see how the cover is attached (no screws at the surface).

Anyone know what's under that dome light cover? Think I could make something work?

It may be too high mounted up there anyway.

The child seat hook on the rear deck is probably too far back for the wide angle lens on the HeroHD. Is it?

I'll do some experimenting - but I can't be the first one that's gone through this thought process!

Try the adhesive mount they offer. It uses the red backed 3M gum tape that doesn't leave residue. Works well on the dome light

I tried it a while ago with the adhesive mount on the dome light cover. The only problems are that it tends to wobble a bit and it's a little bit higher than I'd like it (my parking pass was in the way, obviously, but the fact remains). Here's a video I made to check how the view was:

Instead I made a mount following this guide by SmikeEvo:

And here's what the view looks like it a real video:

Thanks for the example videos.
I'll try the ceiling mount first.
