Cant fill up with gas!/ Why do evo pedals suck so bad? Dual whammy thread.

I was at the station the other day and I pulled the gas tank lever to pop open the cover and when I did the door flew open and a broken piece flew out with it. I dont know where the piece went to begin with but when I try and open up the door nothing happens. Would y'all know where I could find another piece like this online? I have pictures of the piece below.

Why do the stock evo pedals suck so bad? They are too damn small! I would replace them but drilling out old pedals for new ones seems like a bad idea. Does anyone have aftermarket pedals they are more happy with than the original pedals?

to be honest man ive had that happen 4 times since buyin my car 4 years ago, dont get offended but i ****** rigged my door, on the back seat headrest, theres a plastic cover for one of the mounting bolts, take that off, now when u need to fill up shove that underneath the gas latch handle, that go to ur gas door, and with a small key stick it in the crack between gas door and fender then twist to the side door comes right up, as ghetto as it sounds, hey dont gotta worry about someone stealing your gas anymore haha

like i said man i dont use that stock plastic pos clip.trust me you dont need it, read my previous post, all you need is somethin thick to put underneath the gas latch door and hold it up, then get a key you can fit on the right side of the gas door, and twist the key towards the rear bumper itll come right up.

i know its only a few bucks, but at the same time can u read? ive broken 4 of em since ive owned the car and im tired of replacin the cheap plastic, you call it ghetto i call it fool proofin someone stealin gas from my tank, i know its not a honda thats not the point, but for op to get gas in his car that will work. so you do what you want, but when u gotta ghetto rig your tank door so it opens, your welcome in advance.

of course i can read, i responded to this thread...can you read? i just asked why you would rig it instead of correctly fixing it. not really sure how you have broken 4 of them though but it doesnt really matter. how is it fool proofing people from stealing gas? with the clip installed you have to pull the lever inside the car to open it up in the first place. if someone is breaking into the car the least of my worries would be about them stealing $25 in gas. when i have to ghetto-rig it in my car, ill be replacing it with the oem part to fix it

ive broken 4 of them because that plastic on the clip is cheap, and they break when the door is opened because there spring pressure held into the door assembly. and if u live in a hot climate area plastic parts tend to wear faster. im aware with the clip installed yes it opens when the lever is pulled, but if the clip breaks you pull up on the lever and it dont. So I was tryin to help op get his door opened. Well congrats on replacin it with the oem part when you do, then after you break 4 of em like me you just get over it. So do what you gotta do and ill do what I gotta do.

They are the evo 8 stock pedals. like these:

They are slippery and too skinny for the car.

those are not the stock pedals, but they are a dealer option unless they were exclusive on the mr in 05. the stock ones are either solid rubber or they are these

I'm almost certain they came from the factory with the mr models. But they are the same size and shape as the ones you have in that picture. I have alot of trouble with the brake just totally slipping from grip. And I prefer the rolling method of heel toe and the large gap between the brake and gas is just a bit too much
