Looking for exhaust opinions

Hey all,
I am considering getting a new exhaust for my Evo 8 and I am curious to know what is the quietest high performance exhaust around. I am also looking to put a high flow cat on the car and would love if I could find an existing setup that meets both requirements.

Thanks,
Josh

I have the Works Exhale full TBE and I really like it. Sounds throaty but not too loud to turn every head as you drive by.

My Bursher racing isn't too bad...Idle is pretty quite and doesn't start to scream until you're in it hard. Oh and my after market high flow cat didn't help me pass emissions..just FYI. Had to put stock tbe on the car to pass emissions.

Buschur TBE with magnaflow muffler. Love it and not too loud until you get into it as stated before.

Cobb has a pretty quite setup for their downpipes and exhaust if you can find one. Look at the info from their website;

Below are some sound measurements we took within the SAE guidelines.

Stock Exhaust

idle - 74dB
SAE - 81dB

Stock DP & Cat with COBB Cat Back

idle - 80dB
SAE - 88dB

COBB DP, Stock Cat, COBB Cat Back

idle - 79dB
SAE - 93dB

COBB DP, COBB Catless Test Pipe, COBB Cat Back

idle - 83dB
SAE - 98dB

COBB DP, COBB high flow Catted Test Pipe, COBB Cat back

idle 80dB
SAE 94dB

You might be thinking "What do SAE Guidelines have to do with me?"...

Well, if you drive on public roads, they have everything to do with you and your car. California regulations contain a number of sections specifying permissible vehicle noise levels. The bulletin advises that passenger car exhaust systems that comply with the requirements are deemed to comply with Vehicle Code enforcement, governing mufflers and exhaust system modifications. The exhaust noise provisions establish a limit of 95 dB measured 20 inches from the exhaust pipe outlet with the engine operating in neutral, at a specified speed typically between 3000 and 5000 rpm. Exhaust system modifications are permitted to increase noise above the level of original factory installed systems as long as the 95-decibel limit is not exceeded.

I also have the hks carbon with a 3 inch down and test pipe. I agree this is a relatively quiet set up under normal driving while inside the car... my car can be heard a block away though even while taking it easy
