Too much HP?
with my car being mildly modified i would say instead of itching to get more power, just remove your mods like i have and drive for a few months and you get the feeling back when you put them back on.
The reason why...
FUN!
The stock Evo or even mine (265whp) has no "*****." It's just a lot of fun to drive a car thats sickeningly fast. But you need about 400whp in an evo to get that effect. It's not that expensive either...so why not!
And...
I don't drink
I don't smoke
I don't do drugs...
The LEAST I can do is break the speedlimit on a daily basis!

After reading 6 pages worth of post, here is what I gather.
Most of those who modded to high hp/torque, do it for bragging rights. They feel a sense of pride in beating cars that cost more, & only a few do it to improve track time (circuit), & few have much desire to track their car.
There are a lot of street racers in the forum.
Many think its ok (or even a must) to breaking speed limit every now & then, .....because they have a fast car.
Those that prefer stock or light modded think that is more than enough for DD, & higher hp compromise reliability & driveability.
Interesting.
Anyway, the evo is my DD & I made 270whp, so you should guess which school of thought I am in.

Really there is a limit, but it depends on the person and application.
More hp-> more fun.
Damn, why didn't all the manufacturers thought of that. They should just forget about all the R&D, & focus on producing and putting the biggest, most powerful power-plant that can fit in the car.
And there you have it, the most fun car you can ever drive.
This is exactly what pisses me off, i don't care if you make a bazillion hp (it's your money do whatever you want with it) but when it affects a second or third party... Man it really drives me crazy. I read a post here from a guy that bought a brand new evo, was just learning to drive stick with it and was already talking about making !!!!Bigz Horespowa!!!!. Don't they know a car is actually a weapon.
Another example of it affecting 2nd and 3rd parties is when they have huge hp and abuse their engine and finally when the car is giving out, they return it to stock sell it and try to pass it off to a potential buyer like they babied the car all their life and always been garaged. Some of them don't even return it to stock and still tell you the same thing.
The best way to see if you like the idea of a particular horsepower level is to go for a ride in, or better yet, drive a car with "X" amount of power. Some very powerful cars are almost undriveable even though they sound like they would be fun by the numbers. Driveability is everything. Sorta like the Pirelli ad: "Power is nothing without control".

blasphemy you remove them if you parting out to sell car
