weird "problem" after ecu reset

So I finally got around to changing my spark plugs.

I took off the negative end of the battery and started to work, no problems so far. Finished it all, hooked up the battery again, and started the car. Ran with problems at all. But.....

When I put the key in and turned to the "ON" position, I heard a pretty unfamiliar sound. And I noticed something popping up that normally wasn't there.

The SRS light on the dash light up and beeped at me for maybe 3 seconds, then it goes away. But it'll repeat everytime I start the car. It's never happened to me before, and since it's something rather important (as in it might save my life), I figured I would ask the Evo community.

One note, I DID notice a small cable loose and not attached underneath the seat when I went down to reach for the hood opener. Didn't think twice and plugged it back in. Could that be the problem?

I have no idea, but since you already have something to suspect, why don't you unplug that cable and see if it stops?

I'm not qualified to speak on behalf of something like the SRS that saves your life. But I'd check that connection you just made.

The cable you plugged in is for the sensor for the seat belt...

yeah that was kinda dumb for me to think it was anything else.

it didnt actually hit me until today that my cousin, the previous owner, never really liked wearing his seat belt (ironic since he's an ICU doctor). so i'm sure he never liked the sound going off whenever he didnt have his belt on.

yeah problem solved.
