Shocks??

Own a 2003 Evolution VIII and my shocks/struts are completely blown! I put lowering springs on my car knowing that eventually they would go but now that they did i CANNOTTT find shocks for my car anywhere!! Bilstein only makes them for 2004 and up and no other company makes anything! Does anyone have any input or ideas as to where i could possibly find something besides coilovers?? Any help at all would be MUCH appreciated! Thank you.

i know lancershop.com sells stock shocks but they're quite expensive. i ditch my coilover set up for lowering springs with the stockers. roads where i live are not the prettiest and i'll be in your boat sooner or later. good luck.

What exactly changed between 2003 and 2004? I'm thinking nothing.

MR Billsteins will fit no sweat. Just a typo wherever you saw that.

Suspension components 03-06 all 100% interchangable

03-06 parts are interchangeable. Find a set of used Bilsteins. I believe there were some threads posted in the private suspension/handling classfieds. Good luck!

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...uspension.html - I would have bought these (he sent me pics, look very good) but i decided to go a different direction

there are tons of shocks/springs being sold by people here, no reason to spend twice as much (or more) as you need it

I'm in the market for some struts also. Biggest problem buying used one's are they could go bad at anytime after you put them on. Can't believe there are no replacements by other companies. KYB makes some but they only fit Lancers. Too bad since I can buy 2 for under $200. Anyone know why they don't work for the Evo? Even on there site they do not list an Evo front strut and they made them for Mitsubishi. I was given a whole set of low mile shocks and struts (15,000 miles) as extras when I bought my car. I had a blown right Strut so I changed it out. Well 1 year later now that one is making the same clunking noise. The other front I have looks like there is oil leaking from it so I'm not even going to swap it out. So it is looking like I will have to buy new KYB's or Bilstiens.

i say buy the belsteins brand new, they are worth every penny.. $700 for a set of new belsteins beats the price that some people ask for them used. I always see people on the forum try to get $450-550 for them...plus you dont know their condition. For $700 i say get them brand new, its only a cpl more hundred bucks than the used ones

the only problem with getting new bilstein's is they are usually out of stock, it'll take at least another month for gtworx to get some.

^^^

If you have the extra cash buy them ahead of time and store them. Not like they will go bad.
