weird vibration

Just trying to get some input. When driving my car it drives fine when i go into 4th its fine till i start to get on the the gas and it gets a load on it then the whole car starts vibrating, it does the same thing in 5th. and seems like only them 2 gears. but if im on it and going through the gears it dont seem to do it. def weird. its doesnt make any weird noises or anything just starts vibrating the whole car. any ideas. btw lower then 3500 rpms in 4th and 5th it doesnt do it only when you get to that and over that.

Did the car have timing belt job done recently? What you described is good indication that the oil pump is 180 out from the balance shaft.

My car does this too but only in 5th at around 60 mph.

It has been suggested that this is due to excessive play in the transmission and that this allows harmonics to build up in the car. I first noticed this about the time I started getting the p0300 code. For me, that was a lot of miles ago. My transmission otherwise seems healthy so I just ignore it.

na i havent doe the 60000 mile service yet. will be soon. havent done anything to the car the only thing that has changed is the tires are waring but i would think if it was that it would do it more then what it does. and it i let out of the gas or push in the clutch the vibrating goes away.

I tend to agree with gsrboi on this one... thats a prime symptom of the balance shaft being out of phase. I chased this problem for months in one of my old DSM's

Could also be Driveshaft carrier bearings going bad.

just my .02

Subscribed. I have a similiar problem I've started to notice. It hasn't gotten worse and might have been there the whole time I just get paranoid now and then. My problem however is around 60 to 65 if I let out of the gas I get a vibration not when the gas is mashed but letting out of the gas at 60 it vibrates like the tires are out of balance and goes away when speeds drop below around 55 or 50

That doesn't sound oil pump related... the balance shaft being out of phase would only affect it under load.

You're sounds more driveline related (Driveshaft, trans, transfercase)

Doubt it would be suspension related as you would feel that on accel and decel and cruise for that matter
