My $2,100 FP HTA Green
1st of all my aplogies but I have yet to receive any emails from you. Logged in as a friend sent me a facebook message linking me to this thread. As you will see, this is my 1st login to evo m in months. As for the turbo , it did intact had less than 1800 miles as it belonged to a customer and i pulled it of his car. For fp to say the turbo is over 2 yrs old its clearly bs as I have the original invoice of when it was ordered through my company. As u saw the turbo had no major play when.delivered . I will dig up the original invoice and send it to you as well as pm me who you are talking to at fp so.I can speak to them.
^^^He's probably talking to Brian @ FP...
you sir are correct, i would of never seen this, thankfully for the buyer, i have the original invoice from when i ordered this turbo from my distributor followed by the invoice on when i sold it to the customer/friend.
I've sold two turbos here and I always have them inspected, I sent my FPBlack to get inspected by FP to get the seal of approval so I know what I'm selling will work perfectly for the next person.
Edit: i see its trying to get resolved.

Actually he his helping me out as we speak. I think everyone re-selling an fp turbo should send it in for inspection prior to sale. Its a quick easy process and that way you know everything will be good.
Talking with my Distributor now as we speak about the issue and they are getting me the original invoice.
I'm glad he handled it publically. Every time someone sells junk they should be made a spectacle of. Only way it's going to stop is if it's known. The OP made this thread to protect YOU.
Sorry to hear about your losses.
Issues like these should go public.
The peanuts in the shipping box did not damage the turbo.
I just sold my Evo 8 turbo that was in perfect working condition. And guess what? It probably still worked when he got it.

I was told when I asked how much it was to inspect that they wouldn't charge but I don't know if that's always the case. They received my turbo on monday and I got the email today with the problems and the cost to repair. Its in the form of a bill but the work has not actually been done yet.
I think there are a few things that based on peoples comments its evident that is missing. the turbo did in fact have 1800 miles or less, the turbo was in fact less than a year old when purchased ( buyer has documentation in hand) when the buyer received the turbo, there was no abnormal shaft play and the buyer per my suggestion spoke to FP about it to make sure the turbo was fine in which FP told him what to look for and indicated that it was fine. once the buyer started having issues the buyer did take the turbo apart to inspect it on its own. Upon FP receiving the turbo and inspecting it there was major shaft play on the turbo and the wheel was now rubbing on the housing. Technically this turbo is still under warranty as it is less than 12 months and we have all proper documentation needed. However i have suggested to the buyer that he should take proper measure and make sure that the car is getting the proper oil pressure at the turbo so that it does not happen again. The reason on why the wheel is now rubbing on the housing and wasn't before could have been when the buyer took the turbo apart to inspect it and possibly did not align it properly. Any ways i commend the buyer for posting this because with out it i would have been completely unaware of the issue. I believe that the buyer had also only tried reaching me via pm and not email and i have not been on the site for over a month.
