You can do this yourself-- get a wheelskin--did it over xmas for the wifes car. All leather excellent piece 50.00 I think. Now you have to be the brave guy to cover it, stitch it on etc.. and It took about an hr, but results are better then stock and as nice a leather wheel as I have seen or purchased... Dont pay someone to do this crap--do it yourself, if you can lace a shoe you can make this happen. Griots garage I think has them-- if search doesn't work.

Subscribed. Mine has just started to wear and look terrible at 120K miles. But I have also used a windshield sun guard ever since I've had the car. And tint.
I'm interested to hear average prices for recovering.

lol yea i've been trying to find some se doors for a while now, i would love to have some leather instead of that suede i have, not to mention i want to have my wheel redone, i wonder how much momo would charge?
Has anyone tried cleaning the wheel as suggested on the first page?
I would suggest re-upholstering the wheel, but it looks like the alcantara would wear out much faster than the oem material. Whatever you do, you will likely have to repair/replace again in the future.
I agree; a worn wheel is a worn wheel. This being said, often, years of caked on deposits mimic the symptoms a worn wheel, when it just needs to be cleaned. Takes minutes and five cents to clean the thing; takes hours and a whole lot of dollars to reupholster. Seems like a no-brainer.
