Number and type of gauges to install

I was just wondering what gauges most people felt were useful or necessary on a decently modded Evo.

Basically, I was originally thinking 2-3 52mm gauges on a custom built A-Pillar, but this could easily be changed to up to 4 + 2 (on center console) or maybe 3 or 4 60mm gauges.

Also, which brand of gauges are people happy with (Greddy?)

Thanks

-S ...

boost, egt, oil pres. A/F gauges are pretty useless, they are just pretty the look at.

I have Defi link, but they are expensive

boost / EGT / Oil Press

The only problem is that A-pillar are most often only 52mm and there are only very few gauges of this size around. You can still bore the edges to fit a 60 mm in, but I've never seen a pic of that setup and how good it looks.

Defi link and BF seem to be the easiest ones to install (daisy chain thing) and use with their control unit, but still... gauges are gauges... It all depends on your style... wanna show them off? Go for Defi BF (even if they're fkn hard to get as I've heard)

Not to hi-jack this thread but V8EatEr, care to give me your Porsche GT3 driving impressions? If you like, so we don't upset the originator of this post, you can shoot me a PM.
Thanks

Boost and EGT are pretty good to start. If they don't make EGT for the type of gauges that you shoose, then go with fuel pressure, so you can watch both gauges rise together and see if there is a problem with fuel delivery.

I have steered away from the a-pillar way of mounting gauges in this car. It seems like every car out there now sports an a pillar and most of them only allow for a 52mm gauge size. I prefer 60mm, they are much easier to see at a glance. Look at my car in the registry to see where I mounted mine.

PM me for more info on them, of just contact Dan at Mach V and he can hook you up.

Yes, I absolutely love my gauges and I have yet to see anyone else with them in an Evo.

p.s.: While you are looking at my car, could you vote on it, please?

Oh, and Air fuel ratio gauges are rice, unless you are using a wideband O2 sensor.
