What to do, What to do...

Okay so I bought an Evo IX around Sept 2010 and then haven't done any kind of work on it since because I did not have the money. I'm in the navy and I left for deployment in Feb and now I have the money to work on it. I'm new to imports and turbos and such. I want to push around 400whp but I don't know exactly what to do.

Current setup- Aftermarket IC, IC piping, BOV, AMS shortram, MBC and a stage 2 clutch.

This is what I was thinking... AMS turbo back, cams, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, head studs, and a tune. What do you guys think? As I said im pretty new to this stuff.

Its easy to leap in and start making modifications and dig yourself into a hole. I recommend reading a lot on this forum, especially the Engine/Turbo/Drivetrain and Dyno Tuning sections. Figuring out the best build for you depends on the intended use of the car, available fuel, etc. 400 awhp is no problem on the stock block, and there are several stock frame turbo upgrades that combined with cams/exhaust/intake will make that power. The exact best choice for you will depend on if you daily drive the car, if you road race it, autocross, drag race etc etc.

+1^^^ I agree completely. Go the EvoM Newbie / FAQs Forum and read the sticky on, "Modding For Dummies". I'm not being condescending that is the actual name of the thread... it's an awesome place to start and I would recommend going threw several other threads within that forum. It will give you MAD insight into all the do's, don'ts and hick ups that these cars come with when you do knucklehead stuff and start modding out of sequence. Trust me bro it will save you a ton of that tax free cash you just made because you will have the guidance on what to do, when and what is the best part set up to run with for your own personal goals.

HTA Green, GSC S2 cams, kiggly springs and retainers, E85, Double pumper, 1000+ injectors, and a Tune! = 400+hp 400+tq potential... Check the dyno section...

if e85 is available in your area i suggest going that route as you can hit your goals easier and cheaper with e85.

Cheers Bro I wouldn't steer you wrong... my BBY gurl is my DD also. And though I don't cruise around on E85 @ 35PSI on most normal days; when it is time to get it in, I run it CONSTANTLY. You won't get the open highway or city miles on it that you would on 93 but bang for the buck E85 is the truth man. That is unless you got a C16 pump station close to where you live
