Reverse Issue?

First is not a constant problem and when it is a problen it never doesnt go in its just harder than the other gears. reverse isn't constant either. Say probaby 75% of the time reverse wont work and it will sometimes take me like 2 trys and it will go in other times it will take as many as like 5 or so. At first I thought it was the cold that would determine how hard it was but I have pretty much just ruled that out. It wont work at random times.
Have you tried going into 1st gear first then shift into reverse? If not give that a shot and let me know if it still gives you problem's.
Right now I am also having problems with reverse. It sometimes grinds and is hard to get into. I noticed if I put it in 1st gear first I can shift into reverse really easy without any grind's. I was told the synchro is going bad.
