Hood Dampers

I have been looking to get a set of these hood dampers but everywere i go it says not to use on Carbon Fiber hoods why is this? are there any companys that make ones that you can use? and what if me and a buddy just bought one kit and split the dampers so we only had one connected to the carbon fiber would this work? thanks for any input

most hood damper pistons are designed to lift metal hoods and not carbon fiber. you run the risk of breaking the cf with most normal pistons, especially with cheaper made hoods.

ive heard of people only running 1 damper, or getting special dampers with bleed-able pistons to make them less strong

Rexpeed makes some that will "work with aftermarket carbon hoods".

I have em myself but just with the stock hood.
